NuLife’s inaugural fundraising dinner, held on October 7 at Fairmont Singapore, was an unparalleled success and a resounding vote of confidence in our efforts to serve the underserved in our community over the past 21 years. NuLife is deeply grateful for the amazing show of support shown by our Board of Trustees, committee members, beneficiaries, volunteers and donors, all of whom validated our first ever attempt at organising a fundraising event with their presence and enthusiastic participation.
NuLife’s fundraising dinner coincided with the celebration of World Mental Health Day on October 10, and centred the attention of the invited guests on NuLife’s focus on fostering mental health and wellness.
The evening’s programme seamlessly blended light-hearted entertainment with purposeful engagement – through beneficiary videos and testimonies – to bring to light NuLife’s growth as an Institutions of a Public Character charity.
The evening was strung together by the delightfully entertaining emcee Rishi Budhrani. The evening’s entertainment was gracefully delivered by talented father-daughter duo, Mel Ferdinands and Gabrielle Evelena.
Among the highlights was a live auction facilitated by auctioneer Shaun McEwan. It generated much anticipation amongst the audience for the notable items up for bidding including staycations at some of Singapore’s most prestigious hotels, Scoot flight tickets to any destination in China; vouchers for some of the city’s most sought-after dining establishments and coveted memorabilia kindly donated by a NuLife supporter.
A pivotal segment included a fireside chat with Sheena Jebal, CEO, NuLife, which provided invaluable insight into her founding vision for NuLife, the impact that NuLife has had on the lives of the beneficiaries who have been supported with pro-bono counselling and casework and the hugely transformative power of counselling in providing support for mental health.
